Description:
The Sample Audit and Process uplift project, led by Geoscience Australia, will enhance the management of Geoscience Australia-s geological collections. Two distinct but interconnected projects are to be delivered as part of this tender : Project 1 - Pilot Sample Audit : A pilot audit will be undertaken on a subset of up to 100 boxes within the Geoscience Australia-s Bulk Rock Store. The objective is to evaluate the time and effort needed to assess the contents of the boxes ensuring that all samples have sufficient metadata. For those samples with insufficient metadata, the time required to retrieve the necessary information will be recorded to estimate future efforts. Project 2 - Uplift of Collections Management-s Policy and Procedure : Geoscience Australia-s Collection Management-s Policy and Procedure will be updated to reflect current practices. A draft overarching policy and procedure document applicable across Geoscience Australia will be developed along with guidelines tailored specifically for each business area with priority given to the Bulk Rock Store.
