Description:
Between 2007 and 2010 AMSA installed fourteen (14) Mobilis Jet 5000 polyethylene buoys in Northern Territory and South Australia. The four (4) Northern Territory buoys were installed in 2010 to replace existing larger 8 x 28 steel buoys and ten (10) new AtoN sites were established in Spencer Gulf, South Australia between 2007 and 2010. The fourteen (14) buoy assets have now reached or are now approaching the end of their 16-year design life and require replacement. An additional two (2) weighted fixed pile AtoN sites (AN091 Plank Shoal & AN516 Middle Bank South) in Spencer Gulf South Australia, have been deemed at end of service life due to severe corrosion and require replacement. These sites require removal in their entirety and be replaced with floating Aid to Navigation buoys. The current Mobilis Jet 5000 buoys will be replaced with the Mobilis Jet 7000 HV buoys. The Mobilis Jet 7000 HV buoys. AMSA now proposes to undertake a project to replace/remove the above-mentioned Aids to Navigation.
