Description:
Wagga Wagga City Council (Council) has the functions conferred or imposed on it by or under the Local Government Act 1993. Those functions include to provide goods, services and facilities, and to carry out activities, appropriate to the current and future needs within its local community and of the wider public. Plumpton Road is to be upgraded to facilitate the proposed Southern Growth Area (SGA) development which consists of approximately 2,900 new dwellings within Zone 1 (South of Lloyd Road and West of Plumpton Road) and up to another 2,500 dwellings in further zones; including subdivision infill north of Lloyd Road and further green-field development East of Plumpton Road (the Project). Council has received funding from the NSW Governments- Accelerated Infrastructure Fund (AIF) to proceed with this road upgrade project on the basis of accelerating the availability of new housing in this area and supporting the transport demands of the ultimate development horizon of SGA.
