Description:
Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC) owns four (4) ports in Central Queensland, namely the Port of Gladstone, the Port of Bundaberg, the Port of Rockhampton and the Port of Maryborough. As a landowner, and in some areas as the activity operator as well, GPC has responsibilities, including a general biosecurity obligation (GBO), to appropriately control pest plants and animals under the Queensland Biosecurity Act 2014. Controlling pests requires monitoring and actions to be undertaken. Due to the scale of GPC land ownership and responsibilities, a land management contract that provides for the management of both known and newly identified pest plant and animals is required to provide consistency across GPC.
