Description:
The department has the requirement for the following goods or services to be provided for each species. 1. Mitigation trials survey design Develop a survey design for field trials with the primary purpose of establishing the effectiveness of collision mitigation measures and appropriate parameters in preventing bird and bat strike. 2. Field trials Undertake field trials at nominated sites in accordance with the approved survey design, including day-to-day engagement and negotiations with asset managers, organisation of field surveys and installation of any third-party mitigation/curtailment systems 3. Mitigation trials research report Deliver a comprehensive report detailing the results of the mitigation trials. The report should include : • Clear outline of mitigation trial methodology, including study design, mitigations tested and survey methods. • Clear outline of data analysis undertaken. • Robust mitigation fatality monitoring output (i.e. comparison of pre- and post- fatality monitoring mitigation trial data). • Discussion of efficacy of mitigations, including factors affecting efficacy. • Itemisation and analysis of the costs associated with employing the mitigation measure, including but not limited, to direct costs of mitigation implementation, and energy generation implications : • Discussion and interpretation of results in the context of other studies and regulations. • Conclusions and recommendations, including summary of key findings, recommendations for op...
