RE: EXPRESSION OF INTEREST/ Request for information for “Metering and/or Billing Solution for Energy Queensland First Nation Communities”This email is to inform you that Energy Queensland Limited 'EQL' aim to release an ‘Expression of Interest/Request for information for ‘Metering and/or Billing Solution for Energy Queensland-s First Nation communities” within the several weeks; approximately early to mid-May 2025.Some further brief information on this RFI below and full RFI details will be provided at RFI release. BackgroundWithin the Ergon Energy Network there are approximately 5,300 customer premises across 32 remote and isolated First Nations Communities in far North Queensland that utilise a pre-paid Card Operated Metering solution as a means of effectively managing their electricity consumption and associated energy costs. There are also approximately 1,500 customer premises that utilise a combination of either Basic or Type 4 accumulation metering across these communities, predominantly for business customers. Most of these communities are located in Ergon Energy Network-s isolated areas and are supplied their electricity from the remote generation network which is not connected to the National Electricity Market (NEM), with approximately 550 customer premises located in 3 communities that are supplied electricity from the NEM.
