• Description:
• The Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing, and Regional and Rural Development is seeking the services of suitably qualified and experienced service provider to deliver on-ground works project management and investigate and report on reported sick bores. Further, this service provider is required to delivery bore construction design, bore decommissioning design and works oversight and completion services (including on-sight works supervision and reporting).This project advances the control of the leaky bores, in 2025-26 through controlling the flow of bores that are currently flowing in an uncontrolled manner either at the surface or through inter-aquifer leakage. Controlling these leaky bores involves one or more of permanent decommissioning (plugging) failed bores, capping leaky works, and/or redrilling new bores where necessary. Known leaky bores requiring redrilling have been controlled for the 2024-25 year.Further, stratigraphic, hydrogeologic, environmental, associated infrastructure and water interest investigation will be carried out on eight sick bores (Paddabilla, Toompine, Georgtina, Bedkira, Coolatai, Driftway, Vindex, Sandalwood and possibly Lilleyvale) to determine their status following complaints received indicating they have failed or are failing (i.e. reduction in water flow and pressure, and blockages).
