- The Department of Transport and Main Roads, Translink Division (Translink) invites suitably qualified suppliers to submit a Proposal for the Internet of Things (IoT) People Counting Solution PoC opportunity.The Network Events team at Translink currently relies on historical knowledge and manual headcounts to estimate the number of services required for clearing event venues or for standby during events and rail network track closures. While this approach uses past data to forecast transportation needs, it may not accurately capture current demand given the increasing frequency of events and track closures due to new rail infrastructure.To improve accuracy and efficiency, Translink aims to explore an Internet of Things (IoT) People Counting Solution through a Proof of Concept (PoC). This solution will utilise IoT devices to count people within specified zones, providing near real-time data on people counts and movements.Please refer to the attached documentation for the full details of this opportunity.
