Description:
ACTCS is committed to ensuring detainees at the Alexander Maconochie Centre (AMC) have access to education and training programs to support detainees. Asbestos Awareness Training and Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention Training were previously delivered to detainees at the AMC with services ceasing on 14 November 2025. It is imperative that ACTCS continues to deliver this training course to detainees. The course will equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to work safely in environments where exposure to asbestos and silica may pose a hazard, and support participants in entering the job market by building on the skills they have acquired during their time in custody.
