Description:
Design and/or construction of a vessel mounted system for the dispersal of coral seeding devices at various locations on the Great Barrier Reef The opportunity is for 2 options (Respondents may respond to one or both) : 1. Design of an aesthetically pleasing, portable and robust device to facilitate the dispensing of coral devices (Figure 3, 120x70 mm) from vessels to reseed the Great Barrier Reef with coral. One million devices will be dispensed over the duration of this project. The devices are transported in seawater filled tubs on boats and strategically dropped to the seabed at selected sites. The devices settle and the coral larvea continue to grow, thus accelerating coral recovery in the area. This design process could include the development of a prototype . 2. Construction of dispenser prototypes, testing and manufacture of the final version of the dispensing device as per option 1. We recognise that some company-s strengths may be in manufacturing more than design. If you have a preferred design team you think suitable, AIMS will accept a joint proposal.
