- The Public Transport Authority (Pta) Is Committed To Ensuring That Its Facilities And Services Comply With The Requirements Of The Disability Discrimination Act And The Associated Disability Standards For Accessible Public Transport 2002 (&Ldquo;Disability Standards&Rdquo;). In 2009, The Government Of Western Australia Allocated Significant Ongoing Funding To Undertake A Works Program That Will Progressively Make All 14,000 Bus Stops Meet The Requirements Of The Disability Standards. This Work Program Is Known As The Bus Stop Accessibility Works Program (Bsawp). Subsequent Funding Adjustments Have Resulted In The Works Program Being Extended To 2033/34 And To Date 5,650 Bus Stops Have Been Upgraded.It Is Currently Planned For Approximately 840 Bus Stops To Be Upgraded Each Year For The Period Of This Contract.
