Description:
The Blackall Cultural Precinct (The Precinct) is a transformative, multi-stage development aimed at revitalising the Blackall CBD. This project seeks to create a state-of-the-art facility that celebrates and preserves the region-s rich history and culture. The primary goal of The Precinct is to celebrate and acknowledge the rich First Nations history in the region and establish a cultural and arts hub in Western Queensland. This is a concept that has yet to be realised in the area. By doing so, Blackall will be positioned as a key centre for the arts and culture in the outback. The project site is located at 55-63 Shamrock Street, Blackall, Queensland. The development is a collaborative effort between the Red Ridge Interior Queensland (Red Ridge) and Blackall-Tambo Regional Council (BTRC).The project will be delivered with Red Ridge as the Principal to the contract and supported by BTRC as the superintendent and co-client. Red Ridge is committed to fostering healthy, resilient communities in remote western Queensland through art and cultural initiatives that bring people together. Blackall is a small rural town in Central Queensland, known for its rich history and agricultural industry, particularly sheep grazing. Blackall serves as a gateway to exploring the natural beauty of the Outback. Refer to the detailed RFT and subsequent appendices.
