- Introduction This Notice of Intent advises that the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (the Department) intends to issue an approach to market for the National One Stop Shop ICT Solution for Health and Medical Research, in October 2025. Background This Notice follows the closure of the Request for Expressions of Interest (REI) published on 16 September 2024 (Health/24/3268943). Sector feedback identified gaps between the original Statement of Requirements and proposed solutions. As a result, the Department is initiating a new process. Forthcoming Process The purpose of this project is to deliver a world-leading national ICT solution that unifies and streamlines cross-government functions relevant to the administration and regulation of the health and medical research sector. The ICT solution will seek to connect the clinical trial and health research whole-of-life cycle into one operational system (from approval, registration and conduct, through to the publication of results). The ICT solution underpins a broader program of reforms to Australia-s Health and Medical Research system, that will deliver an effective and continuously improving health system. In simple terms, this means better strategy, better research, better treatments and better health outcomes for all Australians, from research that is managed within a single system underpinned by the highest standards of integrity.
